The new guest house sits on a 32 acre site in Columbia County, NY.  The existing main house, no longer large enough for a family that loves to entertain, sits at the top of a hill with distant views of the Catskill Mountain range.

The guest house foundation is stepped, designed to follow the contour of the land and distribute a series of living and sleeping rooms across two staggered volumes.  Shed roofs and black stained cypress siding create a dialogue with the existing main house.  Bright, modern interiors frame a new series of views to the landscape.
